MATHEMATICS

I have always felt natural in mathematics. Nothing's better than learning new mathematical concepts and the scenarios in which they can be applied, and I especially love to apply it to analyze stock market trends and predict how the stock prices will be affected by various market stimuli. At this point, I have taken the most advanced math class that my high school offers, and I continue to see the diverse implications that math embodies in our everyday lives. For instance, math is extremely important for a strong computer science foundation, as several areas like discrete mathematics have a large influence on computer science theory.

Fun Fact: I took Precalculus, Algebra II, and College Algebra during the summer of my freshman year so that I could advance to Calculus during my sophomore year!

Achievements related to Mathematics:

  • Honors and Outstanding Awards in Prefreshman Engineering Program (Largely mathematics-based)

  • Calculus AB Student of the Year (2019)

  • 5s on the AP Calculus AB and BC Exams (2019, 2020)

  • Participated in TLU Bulldog Calculus Showdown (2019)

  • Participated in the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars Program - significant mathematics presence (2019)

  • And all of my computer science awards, since computer science is in many ways a branch of applied mathematics :)
